At a recent city council meeting, the Canyon City Foundation Board, represented by Marilyn Grinsdale and Elaine Dominguez, awarded over $184,000.00 to deserving nonprofits serving the community of Azusa.
The board continues to select nonprofits that offer a variety of services to the community. This year’s selections reflect that mission:
- Azusa Pacific University’s Ask a Nurse program, in partnership with Azusa Unified School District, will have nurses on school campuses on scheduled Saturdays, allowing parents to seek medical information in a safe and familiar environment.
- The City of Azusa, in conjunction with the Azusa Library, offers education opportunities, including the path to citizenship.
- 4C LAB works to provide artistic outlets for our students.
- Neighborhood Homework House continues to offer a bridge between school and family with their ever expanding list of services.
- All in for Azusa brings local nonprofits together to share ideas and programs. One of their most recent success stories is the opening of a much needed youth and family center. This center provides youth with a safe and friendly environment to learn new skills and make new friends.
