The Canyon City Foundation has announced grant awards for 2018, which will benefit various organizations that serve the Azusa community and its residents.

“We are pleased that the Canyon City Foundation’s 13th year of investing in the residents of Azusa is our brightest year yet,” said Board President Miles Rosedale. “The award to the City of Azusa is the largest award granted by the Canyon City Foundation to date. We are also proud to partner with other service organizations in the community to provide programming and infrastructure support,” he said.

The Canyon City Foundation grants will allow the City of Azusa (www.azusa.org) to focus on an innovative new program, “The Greater Good,” as well as to continue its effective work in English as a Second Language, Citizenship and Neighborhood Connections. The City of Azusa will announce a systems overview of The Greater Good project shortly.

The YWCA and Neighborhood Homework House are two other recipients of Canyon City Foundation grants this year. The YWCA (www.ywcala.org/santa-anita), a past award recipient, will use this year’s grant to expand their programming for youth in civic engagement and to provide students with leadership development and career exploration opportunities.

Neighborhood Homework House, (www.onhh.org), also a past Canyon City Foundation recipient, is completing its 21st year serving Azusa. They will use grant funding to continue building on their success and to strengthen their infrastructure to sustain the organization.

“This is indeed an exciting year for the Canyon City Foundation,” Rosedale said. We look forward to even greater momentum and within the City of Azusa in the coming year.”

The organizations awarded their grants on Monday, October 15, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at the Azusa City Council Meeting.
